End-of-Life Doula

What is an End-of-life Doula?

The End-of-life doula provides companionship, comfort, and guidance to those on the end-of-life journey and to their loved ones. They are trained to offer support, information about the dying process, and ensure that the patient's wishes and needs are met for the final journey on Earth.

Support

Doulas provide non-medical holistic support and help to navigate the various stages and experiences along the journey for the patient and their loved ones. The Doula can assist in making informed decisions, with full awareness of what resources and options are available.

Comfort

A Doula can become involved at any time during the end-of-life journey. From diagnosis to the last breath. One of the doula benefits is to help facilitate communication to better define wishes and emotions, and when needed, can serve as a bridge between the patient and loved ones - helping to create a serene environment in the critical period that can last months, weeks and days, and ensuring even more meaningful positive and lasting memories.

Guidance

In addition to providing practical support, a Doula can become a compassionate port of call with whom you can comfortably and confidentiality speak  about your emotions and grief.
